2023 Chablis, Montée de Tonnerre, 1er Cru, Samuel Billaud, BurgundyOne of Samuels two parcels here sits atop Chapelot, the other in the triangle of Monte de Tonnerre. A good 80% is made in tank and the remainder in used barrel. As usual, there is plenty of complexity in this wine; it somehow manages to be dense, weighty and chewy yet also prickly, zesty and energetic.
