Within three years, he had been selected to make the track spikes worn by members of the British Summer Olympics Team. Perhaps most well known for crafting the shoes Roger Bannister wore when he famously crushed the previously "unbreakable" 4 minute mile, Walsh started his own footwear company in 1961.
