Large Hand Dyed Japanese Style Rice Bag, Komebukuro Bag, Navy and FuchsiaRice bags, also called Komebukuro bags were traditionally used in Japan to carry rice offerings to the temples. They were typically made with recycled fabrics and often decorated with hand stitches. I made this bag with my hand dyed fabrics, navy and fuchsia on the outside, and an all fuchsia lining. I stenciled simple motifs on all 4 sides which I accentuated with hand stitching. The ends of the drawstrings are finished with pretty flower shaped knot
