Glacial Ice Patterns, Scoresby Sound, GreenlandScoresby Sound is the largest fjord system on Earth, and in late summer it fills with icebergs calved from the glaciers that feed into it. This is a close up of one of them. The surface has been sculpted by melt and wind into these parallel ridges and grooves, almost like a washboard carved from glass. I was drawn to the translucency of the ice and the way diffused light passes through it, picking up every subtle variation in the surface. The diagonal
